GDIT is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst with proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help verify, communicate, and resolve systems/software application issues through careful testing to ensure our products are defect-free and conform to product specifications for various applications in its Peer Review Science Management (PRSM) group. The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst must analyze assigned product areas to devise and assure the implementation and execution of all automated and manual testing with an understanding of the application behavior as well as client-side considerations. The QA Analyst will work as part of a team and utilize agile best practices. The applicant must have excellent communication skills.
Work closely with requirements analysts and developers to design and lead the effort to develop expendable test plans and test cases using X-Ray integrated with JIRA.
Accurately estimate work and meet committed deadlines.
Evaluate manual and automated test coverage, report findings, and act to implement improvements/corrections both independently and as part of a team.
Verify resolved issues of new and enhanced functionality; recording verified situations (i.e. test scope) and results.
Perform various types of testing including black box, integration, end-to-end, regression, and system testing as needed
Log specifics of any Bugs or in-sprint User Story fail cases to be reviewed/addressed by Development such that they're reproducible and can be addressed by Development without needing to seek clarification.
Clearly document test coverage design considerations, cases, and test data.
Analyze results to discover and resolve configuration issues and operational flaws in testing techniques and share this knowledge as presentations with supporting documentation as part of the continuous improvement of our quality assurance efforts.
Provide information in a structured way as part of our ongoing initiative to expand everyone’s product knowledge. This includes notifying your manager of any information requiring written dissemination to other departments (primarily to Customer Support and for the purposes of end user documentation).
Liaise with Development, Product Management, and Customer Support staff as needed. This includes facilitating test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members.
The tester will actively participate and contribute meaningfully to the refinement of user stories to support test driven development and following agile best practices.
3+ years in a similar senior position with experience in web-based applications with hybrid cloud infrastructure.
Ability to translate documentation/discussions into test situations and see them through to implementation as effective test types, such as automated component& system integration, automated functional UI, and manual cases, required.
Ability to think of bigger picture and test interconnecting or chained components(inputs and outputs) of the component being tested
Capable of communicating effectively with technical staff and understanding server-side versus client-side logic with the aptitude to determine how best to implement test coverage in all areas.
Strong understanding of database design concepts
Experience with Sql
Experience with Sql Server Management Studio (SSMS)
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Bit-bucket (Atlassian Suite), Git Source Control, Jenkins and other CI/CD tools.
Experience working as part of a team using agile methodology and Continuous Delivery practices.
Self-motivated, quick learner with strong analytical skills.
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience developing automation test scripts using Selenium & C#
Experience working with automated testing tools/frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, NUnit, MSTest, Katalon, XRay, JMeter
Experience with Grants Management Systems, highly desirable
Advanced Sql capabilities
Any certifications in the testing field are desirable
