As a Inside and Outside Plant Design Engineer (RCDD) supporting JSP-ETM, you will be trusted to design and document new and/or updated Inside Plant cable infrastructure to include conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber and all associated elements in the Pentagon, Mark Center, & buildings within the NCR supported by JSP. In this role, a typical day will include:

-Follow JSP and commercial best practice procedures, standards and/or provide Engineering Installation Plans (EIPs) required for installation of outside plant cables and underground infrastructure.

-Rely on solid knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, industry standards and other applicable codes related to the design and layout of IT, low voltage and telecommunications systems.

BA/BS in a related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree

  • 14 years of related telecommunications experience
  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification required
  • Minimum DOD Active Secret Clearance
  • Must be well versed in BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Minimum 8 years developing layout and design for technology systems including voice, data, and structured cabling.
  • Minimum 5 years developing layout and design for outside plant infrastructure systems.
  • Strong Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and industry standards and practices regarding the installation and maintenance of outside plant infrastructure.
