GDIT is seeking a Program Manager (Clinical Research) in support of the 59th Medical Wing (59 MDW) located at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX.

The 59th Medical Wing Science and Technology (ST) office advises and conducts clinical and translational research on matters pertaining to the medical aspects of the Air Expeditionary Force and the health of Air Force (AF) personnel and beneficiaries. In order to support the required research, ST offices conduct translational research in the areas of emergency medical care, combat casualty care, force health protection, restorative medicine, clinical and rehabilitative medicine and specialty centers. What Youll Be Doing:

  • Facilitates information flow between program members, PI or Department Head.
  • Provides  administrative  support.  Assists  with  planning,  overseeing,  managing,  and  ensuring  all work  performed  on  a  research  protocol,  project  or  program  meets  the  highest  professional standards.
  • Provides  full  range  of  administrative  support  services  (e.g.,  communications,  travel  support, printing,  graphics,  library  or  publication  services,  mail,  facilities  and  equipment,  transportation, records,  forms,  reports,  space  and  property  management);  or  assist  in  the  management  of  a complete   program   area   characterized   by   its   breadth,  complexity,   scope   of   coverage   and independent execution.
  • Provides  advice  on  manpower  utilization,  work  flow,  and  operational  procedures  to  increase efficiency, productivity, and make overall improvements for the program(s).
  • Coordinates the decision-making process between all program participants.
  • Coordinates and conducts in-house personnel actions and furnishes guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Oversees  project  budgets  and  materials  acquisition  to  ensure  successful  project  completion. Responsible for specific tasks and assists to ensure that project schedules, performance measures are met and products and services are provided in a timely and cost compliant manner.
  • Assists with the preparation of contract actions, purchase orders and proposals.
  • Aids in coordinating monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Track the progress of programs or projects to ensure milestones and benchmarks are met.
  • Provides support to the Department Head and scientists in appropriate routing and processing of research proposals, technical report, final reports, and peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and posters.
  • Assists  the  program  personnel  with  meeting  support  and  coordination,  routing  and  obtaining approvals  necessary  for  government  travel  for  conference  attendance,  presentations,  training attendance, etc.
  • Arranges and coordinates meetings for the Director and Program Manager, both inside and outside of the Institute. This includes planning, facilities, agendas, travel and transportation.
  • Provide  assistance  with  any  procedures  and  practices  necessary  for  accomplishment  of  the program mission; program cost, schedule and performance parameters.
  • Solves problems and resolves issues to ensure that mission is carried out in the best and most expeditious manner.

What Youll Need (required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration/ Business or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with clinical research project management with proven increasing leadership duties.
  • Intermediate+  experience  with  Microsoft  Office  applications  including:  Word,  Excel,  PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook.

What would be even better (preferred):

  • Masters degree AND 1+ years of clinical research program management experience.
  • Military/ VA or DoD experience.
