The Personnel Modernization (PersMod) program is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to support the further development of an Authoritative Data Environment in New Orleans, LA.
The PersMod program delivers sailor self-service and automation of high volume, routine transactions. This enables legacy system consolidation and development of inter-operable capabilities, which can be leveraged across the portfolio of Navy personnel systems.
The Test Engineer:
Performs analysis of documented user requirements and directs or assists in the design of test plans in support of those requirements for complex software/hardware applications.
Reviews user application system requirements documentation; designs, defines and documents unit and application test plans;
Transforms test plans into test scripts and executes those scripts.
May participate in all phases of risk management assessment and software/hardware development under the direction of a Senior Test Engineer.
Responsible for ensuring proper execution of test scripts and documentation of test results in test logs or defect tracking systems.
Responsible for ensuring that the test designs and documentation support all applicable client, agency or industry standards, time lines and budgets.
Responsible for the development of test data to be used in performing the required tests.
Ensures conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results, and managers are fully informed of testing status and any deviations from documented user requirements.
Assists in the analysis of test results, document, conclusions and makes recommendations as supported by such analysis.
Work with both the Agile and Waterfall methodologies and be a part of multiple Scrum teams as needed to support the project.
3+ years of experience with Inbound/Outbound Interface files and database validation; test experience with SW applications and functional areas
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Certified Tester, Foundation Level (CTFL), ASTQB
Working Knowledge and experience with the Navy’s MPT&E personnel systems.
Ability to clearly and concisely describe in written form, software problems and anomalies.
