Job Description

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Perform storage administration and management to include design, cleanup and routine maintenance and configuration. 
  • Develop, update, document and manage storage configuration updates across the two data centers 
  • Participate in the planning and execution of 3Par storage upgrades
  • Manage, monitor and respond to alerting for systems and services
  • Implement patches and upgrades to ensure the 3Par’s are kept current and in compliance with Information Assurance regulations.
  • Automate storage management and monitoring
  • Sets up administrator accounts
  • Maintains system documentation.
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, and coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of storage resources.
  • May program in an administrative language.
  • Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
  • Provides advice and training to other staff members
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members
  • May serve as a technical team or task leader.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work experience.

Experience:
  • 6-8 years of directly related experience supporting 3Par storage operations and engineering with increasing responsibility
