General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking an experienced Acquisition Category (ACAT) I, II, or III Acquisition Program Manager or Assistant Program Manager to provide USAMRMC consultation and assistance in the development of medical products for use by the Army and other DoD Services. This position will support high-level work products for the USAMRMC’s Research, Development, and Acquisition Support Office (RDASO).
In this role, a typical day will include:
Be a key team member supporting working groups, Integrated Product Teams and functional groups with products going through the Army’s medical acquisition process known as Decision Gate.
Work on tasks with minimal supervision and gather data from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assist with presenting the information in DoD acquisition and project management terminology for products under development.
Work closely with IPTs and working groups to prepare them for entry into the DoD Acquisition Lifecycle/Decision Gate process and assist them in navigating though the processes. This includes consulting and advising IPTs on the acquisition strategy based on DoD acquisition requirements.
Review and assist the development of presentations to include annual program review briefs and Milestone decision reviews.
Prepare and present acquisition and project management topics to all levels of staff.
Other areas of concentration include leading IPTs in conducting program risk assessments, assisting with the development of detailed program schedules, and assisting teams in developing life cycle cost estimates.
Coordinate and help IPTs prepare acquisition documents such as Analysis of Alternatives, Acquisition Strategies/Integrated Product Summaries, market research, and transition agreements.
Work as part of a team on related process improvement efforts.
Facilitate various working groups to achieve defined goals.
Bachelors' Degree in related discipline.
Over 15 years' experience working on ACAT I, II or III Programs.
In-depth knowledge of the DoD acquisition process, the DoD 5000.01-02, and extensive project management skills.
DAU Level 3 certified PM or Project Management Professional certification, preferred.
Medical product development experience and a working knowledge of FDA regulatory strategy are a plus, but not required for this position.
Must be an outgoing, self-driven and highly professional individual with experience working with contractor, military and civilian staff.
Must be computer savvy and have advanced MS Excel, MS Project, and MS PowerPoint skills.
Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a favorable T1 security investigation
