The Admin Assistant (Reasonable Accommodations Assistant/AAA) is primarily responsible for providing reading, note-taking, and other auxiliary services for low-vision or blind staff personnel, and others with qualifying disabilities who require accommodations. In the capacity of providing readers services, the work involves but may not be limited to: assisting with printed and handwritten materials (text, charts, diagrams, etc.) that may not convert electronically into an accessible format. As a note taker, the work involves capturing meeting/class notes by hard or electronically. In addition, the AAA will provide administrative support, such as but not limited to answering customer inquiries, monitoring the Reasonable Accommodation Program database, and assisting with the facilitation of providing reasonable accommodation products and services to the Sponsor organization's population. The RAA's work location and tour of duty should closely coincide with the client's work day, however they should also be willing to travel between Sponsor's buildings on an as needed basis (via POV or Organization shuttle). An RAA must be comfortable working with employees with a variety of disabilities, to include working in close proximity of a service dog, if applicable. The AAA must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills, and have a firm grasp of grammar and punctuation skills, and reading. Considerable initiative by anticipating customer support requirement and taking action to resolve issues within multiple areas of expertise is a must. Specialized training will be provided. The customer group services the entire Sponsor organization and based on customer needs/requests. The AA may provide assistance to single or multiple individuals in a week on a one on one basis. The AA should possess an intermediate skill level of Microsoft Applications (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), and be willing to learn Adobe Professional. The AA will physically facilitate actions using said products on behalf of the customer they are assisting to perform their (the customer) work task and duties. The AA should be able to navigate and perform functions in said systems and applications. Additional training will be provided on Sponsor-unique applications such as ones for making documents accessible, procuring supplies, and making travel arrangements.
