For the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), GDIT provides enterprise IT services for DHS’s biometric identity management system (IDENT) and the Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) to store, match, share, and analyze biometric and biographic data in support of DHS’s strategic mission. GDIT’s O&M services support break-fix of current OBIM functional capabilities, as well as security remediation activities and developmental engineering (such as prototyping new code or configurations of OBIM functionality). GDIT is looking for a Component Advocate and Senior Solutions Architect to serve under the guidance of the Program's Senior Director on this large, complex task order. With a strategic view on "future proofing" the enterprise, the successful candidate will advocate for and develop continuous process improvement strategies and solutions as part of GDIT's broader solutions supporting OBIM's mission and business services and applications. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Liaises directly with client on strategic and emerging business needs
  • Provides strategic consulting to and builds/maintains trusted-advisor relationships with client's key leaders
  • Assesses client objectives, conducts gap analysis, and identifies and evaluates requirements
  • Identifies potential architectures and technical solutions to meet client objectives
  • Understands client's available resources and recommends resource-effective solutions to enhance enterprise performance, reliability, maintainability, and availability
  • Supports analysis of alternatives for best fit
  • Engages GDIT Solutions Architect team to prepare ROM/proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, and/or terms & conditions related to special projects or other opportunities
  • Performs research on emerging technologies to support proofs-of-concept and future solutions
  • Evaluates technical trends and provides recommendations for future technology insertion
  • Coordinates and may participate in technology briefs and demonstrations

Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • U.S. citizenship
  • DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability
  • Bachelors degree and 10+ years of related experience

Desired Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in computer engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field of study
  • 15+ yrs of directly relevant experience
  • Experience with large scale, enterprise IT O&M, technologies, and programs
  • Experience in OBIM / IDENT enterprise systems, business, and workflows
  • Experience with biometric technologies and programs
