GDIT is seeking a Systems Engineer for our location in Washington, D.C. The candidate will conduct all necessary support activities to ensure systems are strong, robust, and perform up to standard.
The Systems Engineer will provide:
Depot level repair of the Computerized On-Site Data Entry System (CODES) scales and scanners; Once the serviceable life has been reached, and based on recommendations of staff, new equipment is purchased to replenish spares or a national upgrade is implemented
Approaches to ensure replacement scales and scanners are available at all times.
Maintaining systems software integrity; analyzing cost effectiveness of alternative configurations
Participate in the development and Implementation of long range automation plans
Support multiple networks. Ensure necessary administration tasks are completed; direct others as necessary
Research and Identify new developments in computer hardware and software
Analyze internal or external customer requirements and determine equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems
Establish, modify and maintaining databases for tracking and analyzing system resources
Oversee and coordinate work of technicians on a project basis
Prepares required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
Skill in developing and managing network architecture and available resources sufficient to plan, design, develop, manage, and enhance highly efficient network systems that respond to the agency’s business requirements; and efficiently apply available resources
Experience with web application support and network fundamentals
Experience with monitoring systems
This program only accepts US citizens and/or Green Card Holders. The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.
