  • Qualifications:
  • Experience with operating systems and HPC workloads.
  • Knowledgeable in C/C++, Fortran, VMware, Java, Unix, Red Hat Linux scripting, and configuration management tools.
  • Performance tuning and scaling of HPC workloads required; profiling and optimization is must-have.
  • Serve as advisor and make recommendations on architectural decisions technological advancements of Government program.
  • Demonstrated ability to track and forecast technology trends and/ or resource utilizations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, to communicate with equipment vendors who can provide necessary resources for modernizations.
  • Familiarity with DoD software engineering practices and standards
  • Fluency with DoD software security standards and compliance measures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Hands-on experience leading software development teams in a mission-critical, DoD environment. 
  • Provides technical guidance
  • Participates in architectural designs
  • Assist with designing and evaluating new features and capabilities
  • Eager to explore new technologies, and develop new skills to advance the organizational software development capabilities
  • Experience with containerization solutions (Docker, Kubernetes, Singularity)
  • Ensures an intentional design is implemented which supports development, delivery and deployment of capabilities into operations on multiple environments
  • Create and maintain the software development lifecycle artifacts, processes, and workflows, ensuring alignment with the HPCMP mission and technology priorities.
  • Develop and submit high level architectural artifacts, schedules, roadmaps, and deliverables for the technical staff and enterprise
  • Develop strategy of system and design infrastructure necessary to support that strategy.
  • Advise management on system design and performance considerations, including development of alternative approaches.
  • Establish requirements, design specifications, timelines, and integration path for projects
  • Identify systems and/or applications that will improve center functions/processes
  • Integration of new technologies
  • Provide and exercise comparative selection criteria for new technology selection
  • Develop and implement integration plan for new technology software components
  • Develop and implement test plans
  • Oversee the installation and configuration of the new technology
  • Coordinate user Pioneer/early access programs for new software technology components

Requirements:

  • DoD Top Secret

  • 10+ years of applicable multidisciplinary technical experience with R&D, architecture, systems engineering, and software development within an HPC environment

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.  Advanced degree preferred

Remote (Travel to site approximately once a month)
