At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Hardware Procurement Specialist supporting the customer, a typical day will include:

  • Serves as a business advisor to customers and provides technical guidance to members of the contracting team and customers.
  • Assesses the needs of the customer, consistently crafting the best business solutions; continuously seeks to identify opportunities to create efficiencies (e.g., bundling).
  • Proactively works with various internal and external components to ensure performance/delivery.
  • Provides technical assistance to Agency and/or non-Agency customers to solve a full range of complex acquisition problems,
  • Provides technical advice to managers within area of assignment, junior officers, and/or subordinates and team members on a full range of complex acquisition matters and issues.
  • Assists in the first level of review for resolution of policy interpretation issues involving customers, within assigned component.
  • Conducts a full range of complex acquisition lifecycle activities from project inception through contract award and subsequent closeout activities.
  • Participates in complex acquisition planning activities for assigned organizations.
  • Assists in development of source selection and negotiation strategies and award activities for a full range of contracts to include preparing and issuing of solicitations, and preparing and releasing awards,
  • Assists in the performance Of all contract administration to include critical review of proposed changes; ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions; resolving delays and disputes; and ensuring contract completeness in preparation for contract closeout

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Contract Administration or a closely related field.

At least six years of progressively responsible contracting experience

Desired Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and statutes.
  • Extensive knowledge of contract vehicles to include, independent contractor, commercial item acquisitions, firm fixed price, and indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ), and cost reimbursement.
  • Extensive knowledge of common acquisition business and industrial practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of price and cost analysis.
  • Extensive knowledge of requirements sufficient to work with technical representatives in defining needs,
  • Writing skills sufficient to draft memoranda and papers pertaining to Procurement topics, as well as ability to prepare briefings to senior managers on Procurement topics.
  • Demonstrated organization and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service and business advisory skills

Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with FSP
