GDIT is currently seeking a Database Administrator to provide technical support for a new program that provides agency-wide Enterprise IT support. The Database Administrator will serve in a vital program role, responsible for implementing, modifying and deploying software affecting mission critical networks/systems, as well as determining ways to organize and store data.
• Identify user requirements, establish databases, and test and coordinate modifications to database systems • Ensures the performance of the system, understands the platform on which the database resides, and adds new users to the system • Plans and coordinates security measures and has a knowledge of data integrity, backup systems and database security • Recommend and implement process and tool improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the service area’s support to the mission • Perform server performance tuning • Monitor database performance, and manage system data to maintain performance efficiencies • Analyze system requirements to determine proper server installation methods and procedures • Ensure that proposed object definitions are clear, concise, technically correct, and that they represent singular concepts • Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications • Support the efforts to deploy SecDevOps, Infrastructure as Code and automation efforts across the service area
Required Skills: o Bachelor’s Degree in a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience o Proven working experience as a Database Administrator for Top Secret mission critical systems and networks o Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL o Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding o Understanding of data and schema standards and concepts o Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools o Familiarity with programming languages API o Strong attention to detail and outstanding problem-solving skills o Detailed knowledge of relevant government regulations and standards o Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance, with Full-Scope Polygraph
