The Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) F-35 IT program support contract provides knowledge-based, information assurance and cybersecurity IT services to the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office (JPO). Our services include program management, enterprise performance management, enterprise architecture, implementation of emerging capabilities and requirements, life cycle management, operations & maintenance, enterprise data management, service desk support and IT training.
HOW OUR VOICE/DATA COMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN (TELEPHONY) WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Provides technical direction and engineering knowledge for communications activities including planning, designing, developing, testing, installing and maintaining large communications networks.
Ensures that adequate and appropriate planning is provided to direct building architects and planners in building communications spaces and media pathways meet industry standards. Develops, operates, and maintains voice, wireless, video, and data communications systems. Provides complex engineering or analytical tasks and activities associated with one or more technical areas within the communications function.
Design and implement computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks. Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning, including analysis of capacity needs for network infrastructures.
Utilizes Remedy or other help desk ticketing software.
Works on all project phases, including planning, analysis, requirements, development, testing, and implementation.
Writes effective end-user instructions, user guides, and maintains troubleshooting documentation. May also design network and computer security measures.
May research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.
Analyzes customer requirements and develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.
Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks.
Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.
Provide Layer 1, 2, and 3 network support
Maintenance and deployment of network switches and routers
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED (Required):
Security Clearance Level: Secret
Required Experience: 5 years’ experience with voice over internet protocol (VOIP)
Required Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP); Security+ CE (or achieve within 3 months of hiring)
Education: BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering or relevant IT discipline. Allowable Substitution: 6 years of related experience or 4 years of related experience with an AA/AS degree.
