At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Systems Engineer supporting the customer, you will be trusted to lead multiple cyber development and operational activities and deliver tangible results on complex technical efforts. In this role, a typical day will include:
Evaluate and document IT system/network architectures
Develop and maintain systems requirements documents (SRDs) for technical requirements
Develop test plans and ORE documents for end to end system tests of cyber tools
Conduct OREs and end to end tests for cyber tools and capabilities
Support the deployment of cyber tool
Interface with Stakeholder departments to identify and document technical cyber requirements for target IT networks and systems
Work with developers and other technical SMEs to identify vulnerabilities in IT networks and tools, and develop an approach for exploitation
Facilitate collaboration and information sharing among a variety of stakeholders across sponsor and other agencies
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
Minimum of 15 years related experience.
Technical Skills: Experience with identity and authentication technologies; encryption technologies; must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills; good interpersonal, organizational, writing and briefing skills; hands on experience with network security applications, protocols and associated hardware; experience applying engineering and technology principles to real world operations. Proficiency with MSWord, Excel, Powerpoint.

Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes.
May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.
May serve as a task or project leader. (Not a people manager)
Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, model formulation, computer architecture analysis and design, and digital systems engineering.
Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency.
Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure.
Implements, manages and enhances Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools.
Creates, maintains, and reviews Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Desired State Configuration (DSC) and/or Puppet configuration management tools to support the provisioning infrastructure.
Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
Recognized as a subject matter expert in a specific technology.
