GDIT is currently seeking a Senior Administrator to enhance and maintain the SAS/SAS VA application and environment in Washington, DC to join our team. In this role you will be a change agent by supporting the Federal Energy Regulation Commission to maintain SAS systems ensuring high availability and stability and responding to new requests for improvements and changes to the environment.
Degree Desired: B.S. in Computer Science or related field of study; have the ability to work and consult with colleagues as well as individually; have the ability to consult and communicate closely with technical managers, supervisors and subject matter experts of the program.
Security+ as a requirement
Chosen candidate will be a Sr. SaS Administrator with an excellent work ethic, attitude, an appetite for learning, and the motivation to discover and master new technology.
Candidate must possess at least 5-7 years of experience with SaS, SaS VA, SQL Server 2014 and earlier, VMWare, and Microsoft 2012 R2.
Demonstrated personal experience of a compelling nature can be substituted for work experience in some cases.
Ø Security and Authentication (related to the access of source data within SAS on the SAS servers across the different business organizations as well as SAS integration with tools such as Active Directory/LDAP/) across multiple SAS products. o SAS/Access products and configuring to connect RDBMS servers.
Ø Experience monitoring grid and make sure that nodes are balanced with SAS generated code running efficiently across grid
Ø Working knowledge of LSAR as it pertains to the SAS VA.
Ø Ability to install hot fixes, service packs, upgrades as well as add-on software components.
Ø Understand basic Linux commands that will enable you to monitor SAS jobs, ability to move around in a Linux environment as required for basic functioning of SAS and a good understanding of how Linux and SAS are integrated.
Ø Thorough understanding of SAS products and how they work together in an environment.
Ø SAS data source connectivity to SQL Server
Ø Responsible for the overall availability of the SAS tools and software environments. This includes, understanding and mapping, the Operating System (Win 2012 R2/2016), Connected devices, Authentication, Network, Storage and in relation to the SaS environment.
Ø Administer, Maintain and tune the SAS Platform.
Ø Provides SAS Platform capacity planning, metrics and performance tuning recommendations. Executes actions necessary to achieve and maintain optimum SAS platform performance, reliability and availability.
Ø Acts as a SAS subject matter expert and liaison to SAS users and IT.
Ø Serves as an escalation point for production and/or platform issues and acts as lead liaison to resolve outstanding issues within the SAS environments.
Ø Collaborates with storage, server, LDAP, database and other IT administrators to support ongoing operations for meeting the business needs via the SAS environment.
Ø Identifies bottlenecks in production systems and provide solutions.
Ø Manage metadata identities, users, groups, and roles.
Ø Ensures the platform is positioned for compliance with IT policies and standards and agreed upon service levels.
Ø Performs other duties as assigned.
Ø Understanding server security and folders and how they relate to SAS folders and security
Ø Experience in troubleshooting SAS Platform and client issues to root cause
