GDIT is looking for a Cybersecurity Network Assessor to play a key role in supporting firewalls, and network devices protecting customers from the ever

growing and evolving cyber threats.

As the Cybersecurity Network Assessor, you will work with a team of talented and experienced engineers in performing additional activities to include providing certified services and support in accordance to governing DoD Cybersecurity directives and polices.

This position requires a thorough understanding of network architecture fundamentals, protocols, routing, firewalls, etc. Provide basic support preparing cybersecurity assessment documentation to include Risk Management Framework (RMF), Cyber Resiliency, and Cyber Survivability Provide basic support assessing network vulnerabilities, applying network hardening and verifying compliance with applicable Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and cybersecurity requirements.


  • Secret Level Security Clearance

  • BA Degree and 5 years experience. Additional years of experience can be substituted for degree requirement

  • Knowledge of network configurations and security (TCP/IP stacks, switch/router configuration, and routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP and VRF)

  • Troubleshooting experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and proxies, including network captures and log analysis

  • Must have experience with firewall operations, management processes and leading practices.

  • Must have experience with network firewalls and rule configuration of CISCO or Palo Alto firewalls.

  • Can review existing firewall rules for compliance, efficiency and accuracy.

  • Review firewall rule sets and log analysis for inefficient, unneeded and unapproved rules.

  • Research problems and recommend solutions to improve firewall security.

  • Excellent demonstrated experience in communicating technical information to non-technical and technical audiences.

  • Experience working directly with senior leadership and management


  • Experience with most of the following vendor technologies: CISCO, Dell, and Palo Alto network products.5+ years of related operational experience is required
