DevOps Engineer

At GDIT we build cutting-edge applications that help the end user accomplish their mission.

GDIT is your place. You make it your own. Bring your creativity to help us find simple solutions to complex problems. By owning your opportunity at GDIT, you’ll play an essential part in preparing our nation for the future. We are offering an opportunity for talented, motivated individuals to create and support mission critical systems for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). DevOps Engineers will work within a multi-disciplinary team of systems architects, database administrators, business analysts, and cyber security analysts to support the development and operation of sophisticated systems for processing and analyzing large volumes of healthcare data in a fast-paced, high-demand AWS cloud environment.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Strengthen your skills with Agile Scrum processes, procedures and ceremonies
  • Using your working knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools, such as GitHub, Jenkins, TestRail, and SonarQube (or similar), in an AWS cloud environment
  • Following federal standards for sensitive information handling
  • Using collaboration tools, such as Jira, Confluence, and Slack
  • Your success will be measured through maintaining the current new cloud native architecture, while also adding services and automation around it, to reduce the management and cost risk of the modernized platform for CMS.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Three or more years of relevant experience and knowledge of DevOps and/or DevSecOps are required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Familiarity with some or all of the following AWS native tools: EMR, Sagemaker, Lamda, Systems Manager, S3, Redshift, and/or QuickSight
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust.
  • Prior experience supporting the federal government as a contractor or employee is preferred.

WHAT GDIT CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Full-flex work week
  • 401K with company match
  • Challenging work that makes a real impact on the world around you
  • Diverse, highly collaborative teams

The likely salary range for this position is $72,000 - $108,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
