General Dynamics IT (GDIT) is looking for its next passionate, highly skilled, self-motivated Software Developer Advisor to join a growing team that’s tasked with modernizing our Medicaid platforms by leveraging cutting edge technologies to build new applications.
This small high performance organization will work collaboratively to design and develop brand new Medicaid applications to replace or augment legacy applications. Our current solutions leverage Spring Boot-based Microservices, Angular 8, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS. Technologists looking to expand their skills and build new, innovative products would be a perfect addition to this growing team.
This position is based at GDIT’s office at Riverview Center in Menands, NY.
You’ll join our talented team that will remain small and focused. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to make application architecture decisions and grow your skills to learn cloud technologies, Docker, and Kubernetes. Applications built by this team are highly interactive and user-focused, making the legacy experiences simpler and more accessible than ever.
You will be a key contributor to the team and have responsibility to build endpoints in Spring, as well as front end user interface code using Angular 2+ along with associated Unit Tests for both.
Provide guidance and technical leadership to junior level resources
Learn Medicaid business and operations to deliver the appropriate solutions
Communicate application design using UML
Develop front end applications using Angular 2+
Develop back end applications using Spring/REST
Write appropriate unit tests for code developed
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline – OR – relevant experience in this career
8+ years of experience in the field with the passion to lead an agile development team in creating new applications
Strong basis in Object Oriented Analysis and Design, RESTful Service design
SQL and RDBMS experience, capability to write complex queries
Willingness to work individually and in a team setting
Good organization and time management skills
Ability to adapt to changing assignments and task priorities
Good written, verbal and presentation skills.
