GDIT is seeking a Systems Administrator in Arlington, VA to support the Joint Service Provider.
Work collaboratively with other build engineers, system engineers, security engineers, platform engineers, automation engineers, and software testers providing system engineering services for core applications services, implementation, and modernization of customer applications (e.g., web-based apps, mobile apps) and discoverable enterprise services; the customization, configuration, and integration of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government-Off-The- Shelf (GOTS) software products and services; end-to-end managed service capabilities; and professional services (e.g., help desk, network management and operations, program management, leased data circuits and transport, and operating equipment and facilities).
Perform systems administration and other Engineering tasks outlined by the Government.
Work with other teams and groups to resolve various outages, major network issues.
Test and evaluate new technologies in JSP Enterprise Test Lab.
Use the Government provided Testing Environment to develop and implement all changes to systems and software to ensure proper functionality before production deployment.
Perform product Evaluation and Testing.
Install new hardware and software making sure that all components (hardware and software) interface correctly with each other and the network – including new servers, backup drives, MS desktop/server operating systems, etc. To include base software and applications installed on servers such as antivirus, desktop/system monitoring tools, Serial Peripheral Interfaces (SPIs), system monitoring tools, etc.
Engineer and implement designs related to upgrades and enhancements involving servers, Active Directory (AD), DNS, network monitoring tools, and other special systems. ·
Research, document, and report on upcoming technologies to determine applicability.
Perform long range planning to ensure technology refresh requirements are timely.
Use server-monitoring tools to optimize, improve, expand, and reduce server and network capabilities and connectivity.
Participate in CAB meetings to discuss the build and release items with the team and find roadblocks, if any.

Server administration - Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
Disaster Recovery Planning – to include command and control, cloud based, and traditional data center)
CM and Change Control
Various Monitoring Tools – Riverbed, Solarwinds, etc
Excellent communication skills
