Government Financial Analyst - Collections-HYBRID

Our work depends on a financial analyst joining to support Cash Operations activities for the Collections Team at our Falls Church, VA location.

At GDIT, our people are at the center of everything we do. In compliance with GDIT’s Collection policy, as a financial analyst, supporting the Cash Operations Collections Team.  The candidate will be responsible for

supporting the daily activities of the Collections Team. Candidate must be comfortable with contacting customers (both internal and external) directly to resolve issues; possess critical thinking ability and be self-motivated. External customers, to include Government and Civilian Agencies.  In this role, a typical day will include:

• Contact internal and external customers by phone and email to acquire receivable status
• Update Oracle collection notes with daily/monthly receivable status
• Monitor client payment websites/databases for current receivable status
• Review short or overpayments in accordance with established procedures
• Notify biller, program and contracts when necessary for all rejections
• Coordinate and escalate issues with Billing, Program, Finance, Division Contracts, and Pay Offices
• Provide support to cash application team to reduce unapplied payments
• Provide updates for all Collection Team Reporting, such as greater than 60- and 90-day reporting
• Provide support and updates for the Program Investment Review package and Cash Forecasts
• Support your Collection Supervisor and Collection Manager as needed
• Work Special Projects assigned

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, plus 2+ years related experience or 6+ years related experience in lieu of degree.
• Proficiency with computer use including relevant software applications such as MS Outlook and Office, as well as Excel
• Understanding of FAR and other government regulations necessary for Billing and Closeouts.
• Strong analytical and Excel skills

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience in ORACLE, CostPoint, ARIA or related systems.
• Government billing or collection and financial experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Able to create a team environment with open communication
