And our work depends on a Records Management Specialist joining our team in Rockville, Maryland to support our contract with HHS' Office of Childcare (OCC). You will be part of a team of 12 supporting our client https://www.acf.hhs.gov/occ .

 

As a Records Management Specialist, you will be trusted to draft, update, and execute OCC's Records Management Plan in accordance with the National Archives and Records Administration's (NARA) and HHS/ACF's records retention policies.

 

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Develop and maintaining data inventories;
  • Perform records retirement and disposition activities
  • Perform records retention scheduling
  • Perform database queries and data entry tasks
  • Perform records audits to ensure accuracy
  • Assist with record retrieval requests and file migrations

Minimum HS Diploma or GED

Required:

  • 3+ years of records management experience
  • Knowledge of NARA and HHS/ACF records retention policies and requirements
  • Previous experience in quality control, data coordination, and records tracking
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Ability to successfully obtain and retain Public Trust clearance
  • Occasional local travel within the metropolitan District of Columbia area 

Preferred:

  • Experience with computer operating/file systems (unix, Windows, FAT, NTFS, etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications: Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Possession of industry recognized accreditations like Certified Records Manager (CRM) certification
  • College Degree a plus

Required Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Must be customer service oriented
  • Position requires attention to detail and accuracy,
  • Excellent time management skills, and ability to multitask.
