Software Developer – Mission Software Developer

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Software Developer – Mission Software supporting the customer, you will work in collaboration, to create and enhance an intelligence application. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Work independently and in an Agile team environment
  • Demonstrated Ruby on Rails software development experience including automated testing
  • Demonstrated problem-solving experience covering both technical and professional matters.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with customers to refine requirements and provide user solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with version control (including Git)
    • Demonstrated *nix development experience with standard tool compilation and build processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with database query languages and systems such as MySQL and RDS.
  • Demonstrated experience with Lucene technologies specifically Elastisearch.
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS technologies, particularly CloudFormation and CloudWatch.
  • Demonstrated modern CSS development experience


  • Demonstrated experience in development with Ruby on Rails including automated testing
  • Demonstrated experience with rapid prototyping development and Agile development methodology
  • Demonstrated experience integrating accessibility standards into modern web methods
  • Demonstrated experience with front-end design experience specifically wireframes and mock-ups in collaboration with customers
  • Demonstrated experience with JavaScript, particularly Vu
  • Demonstrated experience ensuring consistent UI/UX and branding throughout an enterprise site

Desired skills:

  • Demonstrated experience with the Capistrano deployment tool within the customer space.
  • Demonstrated experience with front-end design toolkits such as Twitter Bootstrap
