At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an Intermediate Java Developer, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on an Intermediate Java Developer joining our team to analyze design, develop, implement, and support code, working under limited supervision.   

HOW AN INTERMEDIATE JAVA DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Researches, designs, develops, tests, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.
  • Analyzes user/business software system requirements and determines needs.
  • Determine the functionality of an application and performs upgrades over time.
  • Maintains documentation to support software development policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Assist team with preparation of cost estimates.
  • Performs highly specialized technical tasks associated with cutting-edge technologies.
  • Applies expert functional knowledge and experience to significant business projects or processes.
  • Analyzes user/business software system requirements and determines needs.
  • Determine the functionality of an application and performs upgrades over time.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant developments in area of expertise.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline (preferred but not required)

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience with application development

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge and experience in Java, HTML(HTML5), CSS, JavaScript, JSON, PL SQL, Eclipse, GitHub and Spring frameworks
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile Methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience of SDLC practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adjust well in constantly changing environments

Security Clearance Level:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to be a U.S. Citizen and to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.

Preferred Skills:

  • Desired experience with Unix, Jenkins, Sonar, AppScan, Continous Integration and Build Automation

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
