The Senior Electronic Warfare (EW) Engineer:

  • Guides the successful completion of major engineering programs and may function in a project leadership role.
  • Develops advanced solutions to highly complex engineering problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Performs advanced systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end.
  • Provides and applies advanced engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Provides and applies advanced engineering skills to highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Performs continual maintenance and provides advanced solutions for continual and highly complex security, backup and redundancy problems.
  • Prepares and maintains all documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.
  • Provides guidance to less-experienced Systems Engineers.
  • Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes.
  • May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.
  • May serve as a team or task leader. (Not a people manager)
  • Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, model formulation, computer architecture analysis and design, and digital systems engineering.
  • Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency.
  • Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure.
  • Implements, manages and enhances Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools.
  • Creates, maintains, and reviews Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Desired State Configuration (DSC) and/or Puppet configuration management tools to support the provisioning infrastructure.
  • Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.

EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate must have:

  • Ten (10) years of experience in engineering and systems engineering applied to Navy/Joint warfighting systems.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in research, development, test and evaluation.

The successful candidate will also have experience in the following areas:

  • Solving complex technical problems in the design, development, and system integration cycle, Test and Evaluation, power and cooling solutions, command and control architectures, digital and analog systems, signal generation related to environment, Radar Systems Engineering Principles, and control systems with the platform
  • Systems engineering processes regarding weapon systems requirements/concept development, weapons systems design/engineering, systems computer program development, integration, test, and certification processes (safety and system), information assurance, safety and engineering requirements, model based system engineering, simulation development, and ability to use and populate model based system engineering tools (Magic Draw, Doors, etc)
  • Use of Military standards/instructions, interface development, architectures, states & modes, functional flow diagrams, and engagement sequencing
  • Requirements definition, traceability, verification, generation of system performance, system specifications, system architecture development (functional, physical, behavioral), and definition of system interfaces, conducting system trade studies, and generation of functional requirements
  • Developing, designing, integrating, maintaining and testing Electronic Warfare Navy/Marine Corp systems
  • Modeling and Simulation of related threats, EW systems, and engagement methodologies/kill chains
  • Combat system integration and system architecture.

It is desired that the successful candidate also have experience with Agile methodology: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Developer (CSD), or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university in electrical engineering, engineering, systems engineering, mathematics or physical science.
