GDIT is seeking a Network Monitoring Engineer to join our team supporting National Institute of Health (NIH) Center for Technology (CIT) contract. CIT supports world-class biomedical research at NIH by delivering Information Technology services and products that ensure NIH scientists and administrative staff receive the IT support they need.
The Monitoring Engineer will be vital to the management and enhancement of our monitoring suite of solutions. Primarily focused on SL1, the engineer will work with service owners to ensure proper monitoring procedures are in place and and adjustments are made.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Manage Network Services monitoring solution
Developing/troubleshooting Automation scripts
Performing administration on Network Tool Servers
Monthly Linux Server Maintenance
Responding to customer requests
BS Degree in Computer Science or relative or equivalent experience in lieu of education requirement.
Experience with ScienceLogic SL1 or equivalent systems ( SolarWinds, SiteScope)
5 years of experience with Linux Servers
Experience with Python programming or Perl
2 years of experience managing a network/server monitoring solution
Must possess or be able to obtain NIH Clearance / Public Trust
Experience with Cisco Switches
