The Senior Technical Advisor will help establish the technology vision, strategy and plans for growth of a 70+ person group by helping merge and integrate the myriad of technical projects and programs across the group. They will focus on maintaining and improving all technological issues within the group.
Execute CTO level functions to include, but not limited to, broadly overseeing all aspects of multi-disciplinary group, coordinating integration activities between technical teams, providing technical direction to teams where needed and representing and negotiating needs with the infrastructure group. Work with the leadership team to set clear priorities and goals for the group. Lead the strategy for partnerships and external relationships and represent the technological agenda in staff meetings. Ensure tight collaboration across departments to drive strategic initiatives, including understanding the alignment between technology strategy and various technology road maps.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 10 years of related technical experience in at least one of the following fields: data science, software dev, data engineering, AI/ML, bulk data processing, or modeling.
Demonstrate experience as an effective leader and manager
Demonstrate ability to manage complex projects
Demonstrate experience integrating independent teams to provide a unified product
Demonstrate experience managing diverse teams of individuals with varying backgrounds
Demonstrate ability to identify and assess problems and devise creative solutions
Excellent communication skill (ex. ability to explain highly technical topics to a non-technical audience)
Ability to operate quasi-independently (with Customer oversight) in order to ensure mission continuity.
Ability to align multiple strategies and ideas
Demonstrate experience with the IC or other U.S. Government agencies
Hands-on experience in the following: web application development , administration of systems (Linux or windows) , platform management experience (e.g. DBA and/or Elastic search admin)
Familiarity with geospatial SME operations or the ability to learn.
Devops experience with the cloud
