At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an MVO, you will be trusted to work independently and deliver agile solutions. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Supporting the mission of the Sponsor by offering a variety of transportation services to ensure that the work force and senior leaders of the Sponsor Organization reach their official destinations safely and on time
  • The Transportation Services Center interacts with the entire Sponsor population
  • Operate on a large team of 70+ drivers to safely and successfully transport personnel, utilizing a variety of cars, vans and/or buses
  • The Center is a very fast paced office and receives 80+ requests for chauffeur services per day. The MVO will receive Customer requests from the Dispatch team and execute the requests in timely, professional and customer service oriented fashion
  • Due to restrictions, this level of MVO works with a limited level of autonomy and will only execute compound shuttles and fleet transfer requirements
  • While maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor, the MVO is expected to safely operate sedans, SUVs, mini-vans, passenger vans, shuttles, and Charter Buses
  • The MVO verbally acknowledges driving assignments, verifies passengers and communicates with Dispatch any pertinent updates relating to the execution of driver assignments
  • The MVO will analyze each driver assignment to verify passenger count, locations, routes, and vehicle needs prior to executing any assignment
  • The MVO will work an 8 hour block between 0400-1900 hrs. Occasionally hours may extend past 1900 to meet client needs
  • The Full Performance MVO must either, 1) complete a minimum of three (3) Charter Bus routes each year or 2) Actively train (with notable progress) for proficiency with coach bus operations travel in support of Customer requirements to other buildings within and outside of the WMA is expected. No distant CONUS or OCONUS TDY travel expected
  • The MVO will be expected to sit for long periods of time while conducting the operation of motor vehicles. The MVO occasionally stands while maintaining the cleanliness of the motor vehicle and while conducting pre and post assignment visual inspections
  • The MVO must adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and certifications. DOT certifications must be kept current at all times
  • The MVO is expected to maintain up to date knowledge of current traffic, parking and safety rules. The MVO will be required to read maps and use available GPS units, provided by the Sponsor, to accurately complete driver assignments
  • The MVO is expected to safely operate on-compound shuttles and to assist with transfer of sedans, SUVs, mini-vans, passenger vans, and Charter Buses for Fleet maintenance
  • The MVO will maintain a Sponsor-issued cell phone and must ensure that the cell phone remains in operating condition during core hours and/or while on assignment
  • The MVO will wear uniforms, provided by the office, and will adhere to office and fleet safety policies
  • The MVO is expected to check fuel levels, water levels, oil levels and tire pressure as necessary
  • The MVO is expected to report minor and major damage to all vehicles to Fleet/Maintenance during pre and post vehicle inspections
  • The MVO will adhere to specific shuttle routes and will make no deviation without first receiving Dispatch approval
  • MVO is expected to help guide new drivers with administrative policies including but not limited to vehicle maintenance guidelines, understanding trip tickets, and cell phone usage procedures

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS Diploma
  • 1 year of experience
  • Possess TS/SCI Clearance
  • Must possess and maintain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), with Passenger endorsement
  • Must provide DMV driving records and submit to random drug screening on an annual basis
  • Must submit to mandatory drug screening after any reported accident
