We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our winning team. The individual hired for this position will provide support for our government customer, Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD). Will serve as an interface and point of contact with Government program authorities on technical and program/project issues. Will assist the GDIT Program Manager in overseeing contractor execution of the contract requirements and employment of program/project resources at customer site.
NAWCWD primarily operates in two Southern California locations: China Lake and Point Mugu, CA. China Lake Naval Weapons Station experienced earthquakes that caused damage and impacted NAWCWD mission operations. In order to provide improved service capabilities to current and future NAVAIR operations, NAWCWD is modernizing and optimizing the infrastructure that currently supports weapons development and testing activities. Job skills / activities:
Will support the MILCON, Earthquake IPT, VoIP, NMCI Temporary Alternatives, Fiber Optic Trunking System (FOTS) Relocation, Remote Node and Major/Minor backbone repairs.
Oversight of short term and long term solution sets
Identify and document repairs, current nodes and potential new locations.
Fulfill the need to balance speed and agility with risk by proactively managing risk within the cost, schedule, and performance constraints; identify exceptions to policy and recommend policy changes and alternative approaches.
Conduct activities, use tools, and apply processes to effectively execute and deliver the work on time and within budget.
Synchronize the efforts across multiple projects, vendors, and deliverables within Earthquake IPT.
Develop and maintain an Integrated Master Schedule and Risk Management “tracker”.
Meet reporting requirements in compliance with the agreed upon terms and conditions.
Strong leadership and relationship management skills

Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills
Self-motivated; ability to maintain excellence with minimum supervision
Experience recruiting and hiring technical personnel
Experience issuing and managing significant technical sub-contacts
Experience working with tight deadlines and handling escalations.
BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
5+ years of management experience
Proven track record of driving major projects (IT / Aerospace/ Defense), managing multiple priorities simultaneously, setting timelines and delivering projects on-time and on-budget
Well versed in Microsoft Office suite and project management tools
PMP certification is a plus
China Lake, Point Mugu, Travel Required
