GDIT is seeking a Senior Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Analyst for our Healthcare General Ledger Accounting System (HIGLAS) program at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.  The Senior Configuration Management Database Analyst will work as part of the HIGLAS team to manage the data, govern the processes to keep the data accurate and the CMDB in good health.

This position can work 100% remote with a hybrid schedule coming into Windsor Mill, MD office two times a month.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining and identifying Configuration Item (CI) types, CI attributes, and CI relationships in the CMDB.  

  • Created and maintains documents and deliverables that govern the processes and procedures of the CMDB.

  • Analyze change requests to ensure the correct configuration item (CI) is selected, and create change tasks to update the CMDB as appropriate.

  • Defines the scope for CI data audits, documents the audit processes, ensures the audits take place, and any issues identified are documented and mitigated.  

  • Responsible for the maintenance and execution of continuous improvement items of the IT Configuration Management Framework, including governance and control, standards, processes, procedures, policies, and communications.

  • Works with CI Data Owners and other stakeholders to ensure the quality of the CMDB data is maintained and all CIs are up-to-date

  • Ensures that the CI Data Owners can effectively manage their CI data.

  • Configure and leverage the Performance Analytics module to report and provide metrics to the client and management on a periodic basis.

  • Manages the continuous improvement of the automation and maintenance of non-discoverable CI attributes.

  • Manages the health of the non-discoverable CIs through Data Certification.

  • Evaluates the requests for new CI classes, CI attributes, and CI relationship types.

  • Defines, creates, and monitors CI data health reports / dashboards and works with the CI Data Owners and class managers to resolve any issues.  

  • Defines, implements, and improves CI data governance processes and policies as needed. 

  • Ensures that all CI data is managed using the approved processes.

  • Works closely with the Discovery development team to mitigate any anomalies.

  • Works closely with the Asset Management team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data in the CMDB.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, MIS, related field or the equivalent.

  • 10+ years’ experience working in similar large-scale application environment. 

  • 4+ years of experience as a CMDB Analyst; 2+ years in ServiceNow.

  • 2+ Years' experience with CMDB relationship mapping with other ITSM modules including, but not limited to, Change, Release, Incident, Problem, Event, Knowledge modules.

  • Experience with Performance Analytics for CMDB

  • 2+ Years’ experience maintaining baseline and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) using platforms such as ServiceNow or Remedy.

  • The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. 

  • The candidate must be a United States Citizen or Green Card holder to be considered for position. 

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • ITIL Foundation Certification v3 or later.

  • Experience with CMDB Health, Process, governance and integration with other ITSM modules in ServiceNow.

  • Self-starter who takes the initiative to accomplish goals and objectives and can work independently, without supervision.

  • Proven ability to work closely with the business community as well as technical resources in a tactful manner.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to represent the team in briefings and in presentations.
