  • GDIT is seeking a Software Engineer, Sr to support the US Army US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) Information Operation 1st Information Operations Command (IO CMD), 1st Battalion, 2nd Battalion, Army IO Center and the Brigade S3 who live the Army values and have experience in Military Intelligence.
  • GDIT support to the INSCOM 1st IO CMD includes delivering Intelligence and IO planning capabilities and identifying, analyzing and assessing specified threats within the information environment in order to develop comprehensive IO products for supported commands.
  • GDIT support will be provided to the various functional areas within the INSCOM 1st IO CMD to include: Intelligence Analytical support to IO, System Administration, Network Administration, and Information Assurance.

Candidates will:

  • Performs basic systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering.
  • Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.         
  • Participates in the upgrading of operating systems.
  • Performs testing to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.
  • Provides technical support, diagnoses and resolves operating/hardware system problems.
  • Provides assistance to higher-level systems engineers.
  • Perform protocol and input fuzzing in order to find vulnerabilities in external software.
  • Perform analysis of disassembled code when source code is unavailable.


Software Engineer Required Skills:

  • 5 years minimum practical experience on Military Intelligence (MI) systems software maintenance and development.
  • Knowledge of Agile Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with operators and other software engineers to develop and debug applications.
  • Design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Develop and modify software solutions for operational compatibility.
  • Document flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
  • Conduct penetration testing of internally created software.
  • Develop engagement platform image to support assigned mission sets.
  • Create and maintain virtual images for mission support.
  • Test images for compatibility of third party software.
  • Develop scripts to automate image building process.
  • Develop, implement, and update backup and recovery procedures.
  • Forecast hardware and software requirements.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, professional training, and work experience.
  • Four additional years of applicable experience may be substituted for the degree.

Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI

Desired: Military Experience is desired. Completion of U.S. Military Service NCO or Senior NCO Academy Course or Officer Basic or Advanced Course is desirable.


DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Certification is required

  • Required Security Environment Certification:
    • CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent
  • Minimum Computing Environment (CE) Certification:
    • Industry accepted certification required

  • Preferred CE:
    • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or
    • Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA), or
    • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)(Server) 70-642 or 70-643
