And our work depends on a Subcontracts Senior Advisor, with international contracts experience, joining our team in Falls Church, VA.   This unique role is for a highly skilled individual who will be 100% fully dedicated to supporting the Subcontracts activity on a very large, complex program with a key international customer based in Europe.  The Subcontracts Senior Advisor will have immediate and frequent interaction and visibility with senior and executive level internal leadership and will be relied upon to provide ideas and solutions that help guide program subcontractual strategy.  To accommodate time differences between Virginia and the customer location, this position’s standard working hours will be earlier than is traditional, with start times between 6-7am Eastern and end of day around roughly 3pm Eastern, with surge support required as necessary.

This position provides high level subject matter expertise as it relates to the life cycle of subcontracts under international prime contracts.  Other requirements include:

  • Develops, negotiates and administers agreements in accordance with client requirements and GDIT policies and procedures.
  • Leads the subcontract capture process which includes pricing and scheduling strategy, communicating with the subcontractor teammates regarding data calls, assessing the responses received, and co-ordinating communications between subcontract stakeholders. Coordinates approval of subcontract negotiations, with appropriate management staff and stakeholders.
  • Ensures timely processing of subcontract negotiations for fair and reasonable pricing as well as terms and conditions with input from relevant stakeholders.
  • Creates and maintains compliant audit files in accordance with customer requirements and GDIT policies and procedures.
  • Major contributor to problem resolution, status briefings, and subcontractor interaction as it relates to contract issues.
  • Serves as liaison and facilitator between the relevant subcontract stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with program directors, vice presidents and all matrixed organizations to ensure subcontract requirements are fulfilled.
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced subcontracts administrators, and may have supervisory responsibilities.
  • Maintains heightened knowledge of relevant subcontractual procedures and practices.
  • Influences and leads discussions on proposal and program strategy as it relates to subcontractor teammates.
  • Identifies and manages special projects as required.
  • 10+ years of related experience in subcontracts administration, including some international contracts or subcontracts experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of the practices, procedures, and processes involved in subcontracts administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, terms, conditions, and policies governing assigned subcontracts, including FAR; knowledge and experience with international contracting preferred.
  • Advanced administration and organizational skills.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • Ability to operate and negotiate independently.
  • Extensive research and presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle complex problems with solving skills.
  • Extensive business acumen.
  • Advanced skill level with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio) and ShareP
