The Navy is consolidating all Tier-1 IT service desks and moving from a human-centered Subject Matter Expert (SME)-based business model to a business model using a Knowledge-Based (KM) solution called Navy Enterprise Service Desk (NESD). The NESD team is seeking a Tier 1 NSIPS Subject Matter Expert to join our team. This position is supportable remotely within the U.S.

As the NSIPS SME you will work with our Tier 1 Operations, Knowledge and Training Teams to assist in advising, training documentation and Knowledge Article consulting related to Tier 1 tasks/activities for the NSIPS Program.

Duties include:

  • Meeting with Team Leads to discuss what inquiries (contract drivers) Tier 1 may received related to NSIPS
  • Documenting & Creating process flows related to NSIPS contract drivers
  • Advising Team leads on process improvement initiatives related to NSIPS contact drivers
  • Advising Training & Knowledge on the development of training curriculum and knowledge articles for NSIPS.
  • Acting as the primary POC within GDIT for NSIPS questions and advice
  • Provides expertise on continuous process improvement strategies, organizational redesign, change management projects, and performance measures for basic business process engagements
  • Identifies and analyzes business needs, conducts requirements gathering, and defines scope and objectives
  • Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to identifying and eliminating duplication, outsourcing opportunities, streamlining, centralizing, business improvement processes, manufacturing improvement processes, and/or vendor selection
  • Researches industry trends for application of process improvement techniques and best practices

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 2+ years experience supporting Tier 1 NSIPS Activities
  • Solid understanding of BENTHIC and NSIPS Systems
  • Secret Clearance

The likely salary range for this position is $52,000 - $78,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
