The U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) at Fort Detrick, Maryland conducts basic and applied research to develop products, information, procedures, strategies, and training programs, and provides for medical defense against biological threats

and naturally occurring infectious diseases of military significance that require biocontainment.

The Information Management Division purpose is to enable the research vision of USAMRIID with first class computer and communication services. This is accomplished by providing IM/IT management, strategic planning, IM/IT infrastructure, software application development and sustainment, communication, network, information assurance compliance and Help Desk services.

Our team is seeking a Acquisition Support Specialist to provide certified database administration support for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and FileMaker Databases.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional support and business aid to the customer.
  • Provide support in pre-award and post-award functions (excluding negotiations), using USAMRIID contracting methods. These functions may include, but are not limited to, acquisition planning, RFQ/RFP drafts, market research and analysis, preparations of contract modifications and other contract related activities.
  • Apply established acquisition regulations, policies and procedures, while assisting in the procurement of goods and services at USAMRIID.
  • Assist in procurement in accordance with contract requirements, and in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Maintain purchasing database and associated documentation.
  • Maintain purchasing calendar and assist in executing activities in a timely manner.
  • Provide support for planning, organizing and implementing all acquisition activities.
  • Supports issuance of contracts, purchase orders, tracks status, and expedite orders according to customer requirements.
  • Research new procurement strategies / methods to ensure utilization of best practices.
  • Prepare packages for contract awards and submit to governing authority as needed.
  • Initiate timely activities notifying related parties of actions needed.

Qualifications:

  • Skills to create and maintain documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Able to create and maintain budget and contract related spreadsheets
  • Able to create and submit internal documents as needed in support of procurement.
