The Project Task Supervisor is responsible for providing technical, administrative, and operational leadership to assigned project or task(s). Reviews status of projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Responsible for scope, cost, schedule, and performance of assigned project or task(s). Manages or directs resources required to perform assigned project or task(s).

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) implemented the Drug Data Processing System (DDPS) to support CMS’ implementation of a new prescription drug benefit program for Medicare mandated by the Medicare Prescription Drug Improvement and Modernization Act (MMA) of 2003. This system processes all Medicare covered and non-covered prescription drug events (PDEs) and related data, including non-Medicare drug events as necessary, to validate/authenticate Medicare payment of covered drugs made by plans for Medicare beneficiaries enrolled in Part D.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Provides technical, administrative, and operational leadership to assigned task(s), including contract and subcontractor management.
  • Supervises assigned staff.
  • Participates in the development of technical project plans, proposals, reports, schedules and task order and administrative reporting.
  • May also perform high level technical services on assigned task(s).
  • Conducts planning and provides recommendations to client on task workload.
  • Coordinates risk tracking process.
  • Attends customer meetings and may serve as client liaison.
  • Interacts with vendors, other agencies, and other client staff and stakeholders.
  • Coordinates development of deliverables and products.
  • Ensures quality assurance of project deliverables.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

Required Qualification:

  • BA/BS in a Computer Science or related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • 5+ years of related work experience in project coordination and technical editing.
  • Supervises a small team focused on one or a few areas. Low complexity.
  • Candidate must have at least 2+ experience in working with the Agile methodology.
  • SAFe Certification.
  • Candidate must have a thorough knowledge of CMS' system access processes including, EUA, EFI, PIV and should be able to support incoming staff to gain access easily.
  • US Citizenship US/Green card holder is required to be considered for this position.

  • Candidate should demonstrate working knowledge on the following projects: DDPS, ECAPE, LSDR, IDRS.
  • Candidate must demonstrate sounds knowledge of business functions specific to the projects like DDPS, LSDR, ECAPE and IDRS.
