Created after 9-11-2001, the Department of Homeland Security consolidated numerous agencies' data centers for central management. General Dynamics Information Technology plays a key role in the Department's IT integration strategy through its Data Center-1 program. GDIT's DC-1 program is committed to delivering an efficient, responsive, and mature data center operation through excellence in service delivery, performance, and continual service improvement.
This position is responsible for providing systems engineering support for customers in a 24x7 service organization.
Analyzes and studies complex system requirements
Designs, develops, troubleshoots, debugs and manages implementation of software tools and subsystems to support reuse of data collected by COTS and legacy applications
Manages the integration of technology using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques
Estimates development and integration costs and schedule
Reviews existing programs, polices and processes to assist in making refinements, reducing operating time and improving current techniques
Provides strong navigation and site design instincts
Knowledgeable in web development methodology to include configuration management and testing
Experience working with web authoring languages such as Java, .NET, C#, XML, HTML, CGI, ASP, Ajax
BS/BA and 5 years of experience in designing and developing applications
Experience working with SharePoint, SQL, SQL Server Reporting and Integration Services
Experience with direct customer service is mandatory
Self-starting motivation to continue to improve skill set to increase ability to handle increasing levels of technical challenges
Ability to speak to the customer and team to convey the issues and critical concepts facing the technical team
Good team building/cultivating skills
Experience with SharePoint 2019 – deployment, implementation, integration
Experience managing service requests
