At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Communications Solutions Engineer supporting the customer, some of your responsibilities are as follows:
The Communications Solutions Engineer designs and builds creative communications solutions involving internet-based technologies to satisfy unique customer security requirements. Solutions may include cloud-based servers, physical servers, virtual machines, cell phone technology, routers, firewalls and Internet hotspots. The candidate must be able to work creatively on a team to design boutique solutions for specific customer requirements.
The work environment is a high-security environment, so the candidate must have an exemplary history of respect for security regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or equivalent technical discipline or equivalent work experience
- Minimum five (5) years of work experience designing and/or building Internet-based solutions leveraging multiple technologies.
- Active TS/SCI w/Poly
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Basic understanding of mobile/cell phone technologies
- Experience with cloud-based and virtual machine technologies
- Strong understanding of IP routing and DNS
- Willingness to explore and understand newly emerging technologies
DESIRED:
- Experience as a solutions architect
- Experience designing network-based solutions
- Experience building and maintaining AWS-based solutions
