Software Engineer Advisor joining our team to support our government

client’s activities in the Northern Virginia locations.

The successful candidate provides software engineering management support to assigned projects.

Responsibilities:  

As a Software Engineer Advisor designs, develops, evaluates, plans, and tests engineering specifications for software programs and applications. Sets operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements. Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.

  • Develops and applies moderately advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced software applications and problems.
  • Develops complex documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
  • Exercise independent judgement in the preparation and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
  • Performs advance modeling, simulation, and analysis. Designs and develops basic compilers, assemblers, utility programs and operating systems with extensive independent judgement.
  • Using advanced knowledge, develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
  • Develops documentation for new or existing programs.
  • Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
  • Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
  • May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts.
  • May serve as a mentor to experienced analysts.
  • May serve as team or task lead. (Not a people manager).
  • Participates in special projects as required.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of experience
  • Must hold a TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • Must possess appropriate and current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment; either CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ CE, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), OR CCNA-Security. CompTIA Security+ CE is the preferred certification. 
  • As part of your role/function on the program, you will be granted privileged user access. Privileged Users are subject to greater scrutiny as a direct result of the significant responsibilities placed upon them. Please be aware that because of these critical duties, you will be subject to additional IT system monitoring, and supervisory evaluation to ensure continuous adherence to Privileged User processes and procedures. Privileged Users are subject to a zero-tolerance policy for security violations.
