General Dynamics Information Technology is looking for a Junior Project Manager to support overall operations in the digital conversion services for the VA.
The successful candidate will support the project manager who interfaces with customers to manage overall operations in the bulk file extraction and digital conversion services. More specifically, this candidate will daily support the overall productivity, quality, risks, and throughput capacity. Daily situational reports will be required, and excerpts will be forwarded to the GDIT Account Executive, Government COR, and other senior Government stakeholders. In addition, the candidate will continuously monitor extraction and digital conversion operations, as well as access to stakeholder document research repositories to identify improvement areas and anticipate any factors (internal or external) that could negatively affect operations and milestones.
The candidate will provide support to the Project Manager and is expected to document and resolve any issues that arise from day-to-day digital conversion and research operations. The candidate will be responsible for answering government inquiries that include locating high-priority records requests that affect one or more Veterans’ benefits from being serviced. Further, the ability to perform detailed root cause analysis and effectively communicate remediation steps is paramount in the candidate performing their duties. In addition, the candidate will provide an oral and written discussion of analytical findings using narrative and graphic forms.
Responsibilities:
Provides technical, administrative, and operational leadership to assigned task(s), including contract and subcontractor management.
Supervises assigned staff.
Participates in the development of technical project plans, proposals, reports, schedules and task order and administrative reporting.
May also perform high level technical services on assigned task(s).
Conducts planning and provides recommendations to client on task workload.
Coordinates risk tracking process
Attends customer meetings and may serve as client liaison.
Interacts with vendors, other agencies, and other client staff and stakeholders.
Coordinates development of deliverables and products.
Qualifications:
Experience assisting the Project Manager with creating project timelines, meeting project deliverables, and monitoring partner performance
Experience tracking metrics by creating daily incidents and requests reports for project management
Experience with customer service, support, and interaction
Experience with requirements collection, vetting, and validation
Experience with common business software including MS Office and MS Project, and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Teams)
Proven success to lead, direct, and coordinate team activity in a fast-paced, high-stress remote environment
Demonstrated experience with task management, organization, and coordination
Outstanding written and oral communication skills and ability to manage and work through high conflict situations. Attention to detail is critical, as is effective customer-facing skills.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in any business-related field or a related scientific or technical discipline
2+ years of progressive experience with managing programs with quality metrics to support program compliance where service level agreements or service level requirements exist
2+ years experience identifying risks and mitigation and performing root cause analysis
Must be able to demonstrate skills and expertise to generate reports and presentations and provide oral presentations
Preferred:
Experience working in an automated environment with direct hands-on experience reviewing production goals and quality
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Experience working with VA community and agencies
