Our work depends on a Software Q/A Applications Tester joining our team to support customer activities at the customers site in McLean, VA.

At GDIT, our employees are driven, resourceful, and unwavering.  As an Applications Tester supporting the customer, you will assist in the testing and evaluation of a variety of software and web based processes. The ideal candidate enjoys working across teams in an experimental, idea-filled culture. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Developing and tracking quality assurance metrics to ensure high-quality products
  • Developing and executing software test plans and test cases to identify problems and their causes
  • Establishing and maintaining processes for evaluating software and associated documentation
  • Participating in formal and informal reviews at pre-determined points throughout the development life cycle


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years related experience or relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with various SDLC tools and methodologies, including but not limited to Agile
  • A deep understanding of different software testing methodologies
  • Strong experience with automated testing tools, and an ability to conduct manual testing when necessary
  • Experience working as part of an Agile team utilizing Scrum, Kanban, or other Agile methodologies
  • Experience with the DevSecOps pipeline projects
  • Experience running automated tests for web front ends, web services, APIs, and databases
  • Experience performing and monitoring debugging processes
  • Strong experience documenting technical processes in repositories including but not limited to Git
  • Excellent communication skills, especially the ability to explain complex technical issues to a nontechnical audience
  • Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and motivation to deliver the best solution to complex problems
  • A team player works well in a customer-focused and collaborative environment
  • Must stay up-to-date with industry standards for technological enhancements and changes, and to propose changes to internal processes as deemed feasible and appropriate
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph


  • Experience testing commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products
  • Experience with accessibility and performance testing
  • Experience with ETL processes
  • Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and its native data science capabilities
  • Experience with relational databases, ideally Oracle using SQL
  • Experience manipulating large datasets (e.g., R, SAS, etc.)
  • Experience with security scanning, to include running Nessus and Rapid7 scans
  • Experience maintaining security documentation such as PoA&Ms, SSPs and other security artifacts
