General Dynamics Information Technology – Federal Civilian Division is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our team to support the United States Army Medical Material Development Activity (USAMMDA). This position is based in Ft. Detrick – Frederick, Maryland.
The Senior Network Engineer provides expertise to support the integrated Medical Automated System (iMAS) program for the Warfighter Health, Performance and Evacuation (WHPE) Product Management Organization (PMO).
In this role, the Senior Network Engineer will:
Be responsible for all hardware and networking development within the iMAS, Transport Telemedicine Systems (TTS), and MEDEVAC Equipment Package (MEP) product offices of the WHPE PMO.
Develop all networking architecture, hardware, security, and protocol documentation in support of the programs.
Ability to quickly learn project management, DoD acquisition, medical device development, system engineering, and change management processes.
Utilize working knowledge of existing and future DoD tactical networks to include Line of Sight (LOS) such as FM radio and Beyond line of Sight (BLOS) such as satellite networks.
For all identified medical information and acquisition devices, conduct a network analysis to include communications interface, data modeling, network security, information assurance, patient privacy, and program assessment to support integration planning and systems program management.
Develop documentation and implementing network engineering, acquisition, and support strategies for the iMAS program products.
Develop network engineering, program, and acquisition documentation in support of major acquisition decisions for assigned iMAS program products, as required.
Develop and implement a network engineering management process to guide the development and management of a requirements-driven architecture through the entire system engineering life cycle for assigned iMAS program products.
Develop and manage a test program that is consistent and aligns with the Program-wide Test and Evaluation Master Plan for assigned iMAS program products.
Compile and document plans, processes, test objectives, test results, and other documentation as required for assigned iMAS program products.
Coordinate with required external program offices necessary to establish required systems integration, communication and security between all key components and sub-components.
Manage network integration and champion lifecycle management of iMAS program products by supporting integrated product team partnerships with other DoD organizations.
Participate in the engineering requirements generation process with formal DoD capabilities and requirement development organizations.
Conduct internal project requirements analysis for assigned iMAS program products to derive lower level network requirements from system specifications, through lower-level requirements, to the end user requirements represented in the CDID published requirements.
Provide direct support of uniformed soldiers during test, evaluation, training exercises and warfighter assessments. This includes all levels of review and oversight of the iMAS program products on the ground and in the air.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelors of Science degree in Network Engineering, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
5+ years of related experience.
Strong engineering skills
Familiarity with the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authority To Operate (ATO) processes.
Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
Moderate Travel is required (10-25%) throughout CONUS and potentially OCONUS.
Must be a U.S. citizen and have an Active Secret Clearance
Desired Skills and Experience
Working knowledge of existing and future DoD tactical networks to include Line of Sight (LOS) such as FM radio and Beyond line of Sight (BLOS) such as satellite networks, preferred.
Certifications preferred such as Network+, A+, or other similar Network / Cybersecurity certifications.
