Job Description

GDIT has an immediate career opportunity for Systems Engineer with DCGS-A at Ft. Bragg, NC. Qualified candidates must possess a TS/SCI clearance.


HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining Oracle database backups.
  • Employs systems engineering management expertise in the areas of fault management, configuration management, performance management, and security management.  Assist with software installation, configuration, patching and maintenance of DCGS-A family of systems.  
  • Maintains security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • Writes and maintains custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
  • Participates in special projects as required.  


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (will consider years of experience in lieu of degree)
  • Security+
  • 5+ years’ experience. (2 years of additional work experience may be substituted for an A.A./A.S. Degree)
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Client/Server software, Linux server, VMWare applications, and other associated software applications/products deployed in diverse/complex environments across the CECOM area of operations. Regularly perform software, hardware, and network troubleshooting and problem identification and resolution.
  • Required Technical Skills: SQL Database, RHEL, Windows Server, VMWare
  • Security Clearance Level: Must have an active TS/SCI clearance and willing to obtain a CI Poly if required
  • Required Skills and Abilities: SQL Database, RHEL, Windows Server, VMWare
  • Preferred Skills: Software and network troubleshooting.
