HOW JOB TITLE WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Applies technical expertise in the use of database systems to assist users and application developers.
  • Monitors database performance.
  • Identifies, recommends performance tuning improvements.
  • Assists with capacity forecasting.
  • Ensures access roles comply with security requirements.
  • Maintains back-ups and recovery capability meet defined Return to Service and Recovery Point Objective.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or an applicable certificate of training.

● Required Experience:

  • This position requires six years’ experience, of increasing responsibilities in DBMS systems analysis and programming. At least four of the six years must be specialized experience including the administration of a large enterprise data warehouse, data lake, or business intelligence data mart. 

● Required Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) RedShift relational database service deployment, operation, and maintenance.
  • Detailed understanding of disaster recovery and high availability configuration and operation
  • General knowledge of other AWS managed services for compute, storage, and networking.

● Security Clearance Level:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust suitability.

● Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Prior experience supporting a large scale enterprise database system.
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Able to work independently or in collaboration with cross functional teams

● Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience supporting the federal government as an employee or contractor

● Location:

  • Remote. Occasional travel may be required.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $92,000 - $138,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
