As a mission command Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting the Special Operations Mission Training Complex (SOMTC) you will be trusted to serve, as required, as a highly qualified SME responsible for individual and collective training at the SOMTC. Your high level of military special operations knowledge will be utilized to develop orders, scenarios, script writing, and exercises for MTC driven collective events. 

This is a perfect position for a retired special operator who is looking to support the SOMTC from 200-500 hours per year and maintaining a high level of training expertise.

GDIT is looking for several part-time SMEs to assist during surge periods at the SOMTC.  If you are a retired Major (O-4) or above, or a retired Sergeant First Class (E-7) or above, and have a level of professionalism expected from the special operations community, we would like to talk to you and see if you are a fit for our team.

Requirements: 

  • Expert in Army Special Forces and Joint Doctrine

  • 10 years of combined Teams and/or Special Forces staff experience

  • 2 years working with Army Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS)

  • Army or leadership experience in Unit Training Management (UTM)

  • Knowledgeable in Army information systems to train MC principles

  • Specialized Functional Area experience at the O-4/E-7 level or above

  • CGSC (MEL 4) or Senior Leader Course (SLC) qualified

  • Proficient with MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and others)

  • Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Battalion level command or higher (officer)

  • Team NCOIC (enlisted)

  • Senior Service College (SSC/MEL 1) or Battle Staff NCO Course (BSNCOC)

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5 years of experience utilizing the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) process

  • TS/SCI Clearance
