The User Interface (UI) /User Experience (UX) Developer} Web Designer will be responsible for the user interface design and development of our customer-facing applications and websites.  Will have business knowledge that provides the ability, when given business objectives and requirements for any project, to translate these into a cohesive and usable end product.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a full lifecycle of Responsive design: content-first design, logic flows, storyboards, personas, wireframes, low fidelity mock-ups, sitemaps, high fidelity prototypes, and UI specifications, to provide end-to-end dynamic, database driven design flows
  • Constructs pages in HTML and CSS (with SASS), with coding around templating languages
  • Develop standards-compliant front-end code for websites, web applications, and mobile solutions using HTML, CSS and JavaScript driven framework, such as Angular or React
  • Working in an Agile Software Development environment, team with product owners, business analysts, and product development to clarify and define business requirements as they apply to the UI
  • Craft UX engagements, particularly in a graphical user interface (GUI) environment, that exceed customer expectations by partnering with key product stakeholders to understand and support product business goals, advocating user-centered design (UCD) industry best practices
  • Analyze available usage metrics for trends, patterns, issues, and opportunities for UX optimization

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Computer Engineering  and minimum 10 years of in the Information Technology field focusing on development projects and UI/UX Design specifically
  • 6 – 8 years of  experience User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design for dynamic, database or bootstrap driven web sites and Content Management Systems
  • 8 -10 years of experience in web design and front end development using HTML, XHTML, CSS, Java Scripts and jQuery
  • Expert with sophisticated web technologies, including Backbone.js, Angular.js, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, XSL, Bootstrap, LESS, SASS and Sprite imaging
  • Expert knowledge of user centered design (UCD) patterns and best practices
  • 2 years of experience with code management tools like Jenkins, GIT, JIRA
  • 2 years of experience incorporating reliable unit and end-to-end testing to UI frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and possess expert debugging skills with UI related issues
  • Working knowledge of Government regulations, including Section 508 compliance and accessibility
  • Experience with developing themes and skins

Desired Education and Experience

  • US Citizen with DHS Public Trust suitability clearance/EOD
  • Experience with any DHS agencies or entities
  • Working in AWS environment
  • Experience working with Provider, Beneficiary, Medicare, Claims, and/or state Medicaid data
  • Prior experience with Agile Process in Federal Government  environment
  • Experienced with integrating with REST APIs and developing Single Page Applications
  • Working knowledge of user centered design (UCD) patterns and best practices
  • Experience with Node.js, Vue.js, less/grunt
  • Exceptional written communication and presentation skills including the ability to engage different stakeholders in developing and implementing designs
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities


  • Candidate must be an US citizen able to obtain DHS Public Trust clearance and USCIS EOD to start work
