Were looking for a passionate, skilled, and driven Programmer to help our Technology Shared Services (TSS) Applications team with building solutions and driving value to our customers. This position will support business systems and application management for General Dynamics.
Our ideal candidate will have experience in data analysis, application development, automation and workflow development, and database management.
Provides tier 2 application support, including incident response and resolution, vendor escalations, and change management.
Reviews and recommends SaaS application solutions and customizations to improve service delivery.
Builds and maintains application configuration and management in alignment with ITSM and SDLC best practices.
Supports service requests, enhancement requests, and change requests for application portfolio.
Maintains configuration and change management for application portfolio.
Supports configuration and maintenance of application identity and access management, including support of single sign-on capabilities and integration with identity providers.
Develops and maintains knowledge management database and articles to support application management and design.
Monitors databases and record management in compliance with GDIT policies.
Develops and maintains self-service knowledge management articles for users and tier 1 support.
Maintains vendor management process and procedures for support troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades.
Performs change control and operational readiness assessments for enhancements, upgrades, and configuration changes.
Designs data dictionaries, database structure and layout, and schema to support applications and analysis.
Leads continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality, including performing proactive maintenance such as ensuring continued space availability, monitoring activity, and documenting problems, changes, and solutions.
Serves as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.
Participates in special projects as required.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, plus two years or more of experience with application management and ITSM.
Strong organization and time management skills
Certifications and experience in IT Service Management and/or ITIL
Certifications and experience in ServiceNow or other ITSM tools
Experience in tier 2 application support and maintenance
Experience and knowledge in SDLC best practices
Experience developing and working on Agile teams
Must be able to identify and learn new technologies quickly
Excellent understanding application programming frameworks and languages
data analysis, application development, automation and workflow development, and database management
