As the Transition Lead at GDIT you will take lead on managing tasks related to the transition of new or expanded services and contracts within GDIT.  You will be responsible for facilitating meetings to discuss and review, project schedule, timelines and risk mitigation.  This role will allow you to utilize your time management and organizational skills to ensure projects are completed timely and within budget. If you enjoy collaborating with a dynamic team to ensure the successful completion of client and operational goals, you will find this role to be both rewarding and challenging.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Establish and facilitate meetings with Work Stream Leads/Delivery Teams to provide a status update on transitions
  • Develop and maintain a project schedule using Project of timeline of events for launching a new contract or onboarding new services to existing contracts.
  • Communicate project status updates to GDIT leadership to include identified risks, issues, and mitigations. 
  • Maintain the Risk, Action, Issue and Deliverable (RAID) for all project implementations.
  • Work with Work Stream Leads to identify mitigation for identified risk or issue. 
  • Develop documents for presentation of project status during the transition period
  • Communicates regularly with client on transition status and timeline. 
  • Communicates mitigation associated with cost to the program management team for approval.
  • Responsible for establishing, facilitating and documenting meetings where transition tasks are identified/discussed/gathered.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Two or more years of related experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • One or more years of experience with MS Project
  • One or more years of experience with communicating with a diverse audience of collaborators and team members
  • Two or more years of experience leading initiatives within a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Experience and familiarity with Technology Shared Services Offerings and/or Service Desk
