At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Logistics Analyst, you will be trusted to work independently and deliver agile solutions. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Maintaining good communication with the team
  • Logistics officer will serve as a corporate resource housed in office, but serving across offices to enable diverse technical and operational capabilities
  • Work as a team in a moderate paced work environment
  • Maintain the operational mission readiness state for collection kits including maintaining and refurbishing equipment and managing repair and calibration activities.  This will include ensuring materials are stored properly, sample collection materials are not expired, equipment is in good working order, and via SOP’s, coordinate with vendors to troubleshoot replace non-working equipment.  Support readiness, including performing preliminary set-up and check-out, of stored equipment for operations and retrieve equipment upon request
  • Manage equipment databases, mark, and catalogue equipment
  • Assist in equipment checkout and setup for training sessions, manage the on-site Secure Video Teleconferencing system, manage on-site communication devices, manage repair and calibration activities of equipment
  • Provide training on receiving HAZMAT samples from the field via established SOP’s, guidance, and regulations.  Must be willing to brief new team members on kit preparation process
  • Required to transport equipment in the WMA using government vehicles.  Provide daily, weekly, and monthly status reports to management.  Prepare for the facility relocation
  • Assist Sponsor Center personnel with the purchase of equipment for operational needs through Sponsor System or other enterprise purchase mechanisms.  Will keep the Customer and management abreast of any issues that may have to include status of the requests
  • Coordinate across Branch’s prior to shipping material out to determine priority.  Process shipments that require special handling and coordinate with sponsor HAZMAT and safety SME’s when shipping hazardous materials.  Coordinate with the Sponsor shipping and transportation SME’s to determine drop dead delivery dates for shipments going out that must meet the drop dead delivery dates in the field.  Properly document and repackage, as appropriate, material for delivery to the appropriate labs.  Candidate will sometimes be required to transport equipment in the WMA using government vehicles.  Support readiness of stored equipment for operations and retrieve equipment upon request.
  • Maintain kits for worldwide deployment and use.  This includes following the SOP validating all kit contents area available and packaged appropriately.  Assist with staging, organization, set-up, testing, and packaging of equipment to support operations.  Receive and process collected samples from the field in a timely manner for onward shipment to department lab analysis capabilities.  Coordinate with Sponsor transportation and shipping leads to send and receive incoming and outgoing material/equipment/samples to contractor sites and overseas.  Generate shipping internal communications when needed.  Create requests in Sponsor shipping tracking system for each shipment
  • Manage equipment databases, mark, and catalogue equipment.  Serve as the Responsible Officer for accountable property in the Sponsor department to include tracking, inventorying, and updating equipment in Sponsor logistics systems.  Process broken and obsolete equipment/supplies for disposal and may coordinate with equipment vendors to secure replacement.  Provide daily, weekly, and monthly status reports to management


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS Diploma
  • TS/SCI w/polygraph
  • Required to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • The ability to operate a pallet jack and willing to take forklift training
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office including intermediate skills with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel as well as intermediate proficiency with Outlook
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s record
  • Candidate must have 5+ years of experience working inventory control, database entry, materials management, records management, and equipment marking and storage
