GDIT s military health team is HIRING a Research Database Specialist to support the 59th Medical Wing (MDW), located at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
The 59th Medical Wing Science and Technology (ST) office advises and conducts clinical and translational research on matters pertaining to the medical aspects of the Air Expeditionary Force and the health of Air Force (AF) personnel and beneficiaries. In order to support the required research, ST offices conduct translational research in the areas of emergency medical care, combat casualty care, force health protection, restorative medicine, clinical and rehabilitative medicine and specialty centers.
Manages the administration of clinical and genomic databases.
Analyzes the organizations database needs and develops a long-term strategy for data storage.
Must be familiar and understand ORACLE database.
Adheres to policies and procedures related to data security and monitors/limits database access as needed.
Oversees the design, maintenance and implementation of the systems that manage an internal database. Requires a Master’s Degree with 5-7 years of experience in the field.
Extensive knowledge of clinical data retrieval and abstraction required. Relevant knowledge of genome database construction and maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Master’s Degree with 5-7 years in research database experience and full understanding of the ORACLE Databases.
