While hundreds of first -time investors are turning to the markets to help pay for their homes, send their children to college and secure their futures the mission of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is becoming all the more vital.  GDIT is excited to support the SEC in as it seeks to protect investors, maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets, and facilitate capital formation.

The SEC ISS program is a comprehensive IT program charged with operating, managing, and advancing the SEC’s IT infrastructure. Our dynamic program team of IT leaders and large and small business partners is seeking bright, energetic and talented individuals to join us as we bring our innovative IT Service Delivery solutions to SEC. Currently; we are seeking a VMware Subject Matter Expert.. The selected candidate must be a US Citizen (without dual citizenship) and able to obtain a Public Trust Suitability clearance, per contract requirements.

Required Experience: 

  • Must have a minimum of 12 years of experience supporting, designing and administrating VMWare infrastructure.

  • Expert hands on engineering experience with VMware (to include ESX, ESXi/vSphere, vCenter, vMotion,vRealize, and/or DRS) and other virtualization technologies and concepts.

  • Experience with creating and troubleshooting automation scripts using PowerShell and PowerCLI.

  • Must have one of the following certifications VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP),VMware Certified Implementation Expert (VCIX), VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX), VMware Cloud Management and Automation (CMA), VMware Data Center Virtualization (DCV)


  • Responsible for Analyzing and troubleshooting all VMware Server deployment and virtualization issues.

  • Identify important potential technologies and approaches to address current and future needs within the enterprise, evaluate their applicability and fit, and make recommendations to the Government based on the evaluation.

  • Assist the Government in defining standards for virtualization technologies and best practices for their use.

  • Provide planning, installation, configuration, and upgrading support for vCenter Server and VMware ESXi.

The likely salary range for this position is $156,000 - $234,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
