At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an Administrative Assistant III a typical day will include:
The candidate will work closely with instructors, students and others to provide administrative, registrar and training support to center courses. Even though a team environment exists, the candidate must work independently to effectively and efficiently perform responsibilities, and will need to manage his/her time efficiently to meet requirements for current ongoing classes while simultaneously preparing for future classes
Much of the support provided will be behind the scenes in advance of a course commencing, or after its completion. While class is in session, the candidate will have some limited face-to-face interaction with students, including but not limited to, providing an administrative briefing on the first day of class
The candidate may support six to eight courses or more, and courses can range from fewer than ten students to over fifty. Communication will include both written and verbal. Professional communication and attention to detail are paramount in coordinating with instructors and assisting students
Candidate may attend occasional, infrequent meetings at other buildings within the WMA. If WMA travel is required, candidate may use GOV if one is available. If not, POV would be required and will be eligible for reimbursement. CONUS travel though infrequent may occur. Travel will be arranged through Sponsor travel systems and will be scheduled in advance.
HS Diploma and 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
TS/SCI with Polygraph
Core hours for this position are 0900-1500; however, on days that a class is in session that the contractor supports, the expectation is that the candidate would arrive earlier (0730-0800 hours) in order to open the classroom, set it up for the day, etc.
Proficient Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Able to perform duties with minimal supervision and some team interaction
